Reseña del libro "Animal cult"
Ancient hunters and fishermen left leftovers of food in certain places so that animals and fish would gather there to make them easier to catch. They wore animal skins to get closer to them; archaeologists have found images of horned men and people dressed in animal skins. The need of life required extraordinary actions, then it grew into rituals and symbols - certain forms of behavior in hunting and fishing, then the cunning priests under the guise of non-existent god inculcated their fellow tribesmen cult attitudes. A cult (from Latin cultus - care, veneration) is a set of religious actions connected with the attitude to the supernatural. The main thing here is sacrifice (the Russian words "zhrets" and "zhrit" are of the same origin with the word "sacrifice"), originally connected with the feeding of animals. Sacrifice in modern conditions is very profitable for priests of cult: they sell candles, lamps, icons and get money. Hypnotic influence on the congregation by means of all kinds of religious manipulations leads to the fact that people become believers, and this is profitable for "interested persons".
