Libby oft times carried painful bruises. Her life was sometimes in danger from Nathan's drunken tantrums. Many nights, Nathan's side of the bed lay undisturbed. Work at his auto repair shop came first. It was not unusual for him to fall asleep, wrench in hand, laying on his roll-around work creeper.
