Darren the Dragon Takes a Bath is about a friendly dragon with large feathered wings and a red crown on top of his head. After a year of sleeping in caves and flying in the rain, snow, and wind, Darren looks forward to his yearly bath. The first Saturday of September, Darren the Friendly Dragon flies into the small mountain town of Newton to take a bath in the large fountain located on Main Street. The streets are lined with booths of popcorn, cotton candy, pink lemonade, and ice cream. The children and their dogs are running and playing in the streets as everyone waits for Darren to fly into town. After his bath, the children line up to take a ride on Darren's back.
