Is it normal? You receive an invitation to take on the challenge of a very complex new project because of your vast experience, but your salary does not change. Is it normal? There is a moment when some decisions are made within us that generate a feeling of power or empowerment, or both. It is as if you are going to enter alone in a dark and unknown cave in a forest far from civilization. There is a mixture of fear, insecurity, cold in the belly, dread ... adrenaline pours through your veins and makes you stay alert and ready to run, or attack, or defend yourself from whatever may appear ... in the dark. After the first impact of the transition from light to the dark interior of the cave has passed, as soon as your eyes get used to the darkness; the sound also changes and the wind that shook the leaves of the trees gives way to silence and the echo of drops that drip from the stalactites and make puddles along the dark path, the crackling of insects and the noise of your own steps walking on the damp earth, added to the sensations that there is much more there than your senses reveal... and then, at this moment, your imagination begins to fill the void of information with thoughts of dangers that may or may not exist, because everything is in your mind. It is at that moment that you have two options: to dominate your mind and feel empowered to move into the unknown, or to feel that there is a power beyond you that should not be faced at that moment and then you retreat.
