The Bible is a spiritual book. Strangely enough, many ministers have a problem with that and try to interpret spiritual things with their carnal mind. "For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be" (Romans 8:5-7). Paul clearly stated here that if a person thinks with their natural mind they will not understand spiritual significance of the Spiritual Book, or it's Author. Opinion is not necessarily truth in any circumstance. It is impossible to comprehend the Bible with the natural mind. People need to seek the Lord for revelation of His Word and study that Word. The subject of this work is one of these for the author. Originally there was the taken-for-granted idea he had always heard in church. As he started to study he found that Biblical history did not bear out the basic conclusion. Therefore, the entire conception of the study had to be altered to truth and not opinions of men. "But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men" (Mt 15:9). We need to know Truth.
