Reseña del libro "His Love Letters Are...: I Love You (en Inglés)"
Once after having a born-again experience and realizing that God had a purpose for my life, I was compelled for more than twenty-five years, to care for foster children and mentally challenged individuals in my home. One day one of my mentally challenged adults, who has Alzheimer's, needed to have his soiled diaper changed. The whole time while changing him, he was resisting me by his screams and by his efforts to push me away. After thoroughly cleaning him, he made another large BM a few moments later and I had to repeat the cleaning process all over again. During this time, which seemed to take forever, I raised my voice "Be still! I should be the one crying, as stink as you are! Do you think I want to be changing your stinky diapers all the time?" I knew he didn't understand my sentiment, but God surely did. I heard the Holy Spirit quietly speaking to my irritated spirit. "How do you think sin smells?" All of a sudden I began to imagine that sin must stink in the nostrils of God too. The young man, who has Alzheimer's disease, didn't realize that after his dirty diaper was changed, he would feel a whole lot better, but I sure did. It didn't matter how much he screamed for me to stop, he still had to be cleaned to smell better and feel better. Likewise, with us, we may not realize that by submitting ourselves to God and then resisting the devil we will feel a whole lot better about being freed from the bondage of sin, but Jesus knows. Thereafter, whenever I did anything for my charges, or anyone else, I'm reminded of my stinky diaper experience. Now, that I was carefree, I continued a writing career that is proving to be more purposeful than I'd ever imagined. I realized that all life's stories are not fairytales, like the Cinderella ending where she lived "happily-ever-after" once she met her prince charming, or like that of the three little pigs who got away from the woof, finding safety in a brick house. Other stories are real-life stories, like my dirty diaper experience, or that of the woman who already had six husbands when she met Jesus at the well. He is the Savior who offered her water that would give her everlasting life. Also found in the Bible, is the account of three young men who were thrown into a fiery furnace for their refusal to bow down to an idol. A fourth man, the Son of God, was also in the fire with them, so none of them were burned in flames. Now that I'm writing inspiring short stories about some of my experiences while being committed to God's purposes, I encouraged other writers to use the title "His Love Letters are...I Love You" in a Story Tellers Challenge Project! This mix of fiction/nonfiction stories in this book are entries from the ones who participated in my project. It is hoped that you will think about these fiction/nonfiction stories long after you have finished reading this book and perhaps you will share a story in our next Storytellers Challenge Project.
