Oh, well, the man is as ruggedly handsome and boldly competent as you could want. But the heroine is argumentative, competitive, and has a temper. She makes mistakes and has real emotions around them. Ultimately, she tries to do what's right. If you want to read a story about a heroine like that--and hero who can handle that--well, then, this is your book.
