Reseña del libro "La Casa Minima: The Myth of San Telmo Revealed (en Inglés)"

"A supenseful and intriguing short read which evokes all of our emotions." A historical fiction series full of mystery, romance, and suspense. Set in past and present-day Buenos Aires, Argentina "The Myth of San Telmo Revealed" tells the story of La Casa Minima. It is believed by some locals that "the smallest house in BA" was once gifted to a freed slave by his/her former owners. Yet nobody knows the truth of what happened there in the mid-19th century. Until a young North American writer travels to the Rio de Plata region in 2018.In Zion's research on Africans in Latin America he is drawn to the southernmost country in the predominately Spanish speaking continent. There he also finds Sofia, his vacation rental host whose connection to the "small house" is deeper than she knows. The museum's tour guide has family secrets which are not only hidden underground, but also in plain sight. And as she and Zion attempt to solve the mystery their landlord/tenant agreement is modified to include romance. By strange coincidence their taboo relationship also parallels the affair of a couple whose love story ended dramatically in the one room tenement. Take a journey back in time to 1853 when a new generation of Afro Portenos evolved in the "District of drums." Yet not all of them were following the same beat. Carlos, a former slave and war veteran is waiting for a reason to start an uprising. Then the woman Alma, who is obsessed with, confesses that she has fallen for her former slave master Mateo. Alma's deceased father was a friend of the former soldier who vowed to protect her. Eventually though it is Carlos whom she fears when she learns of his plot to torch the city. What happens next is the untold story of La Casa Minima yet to uncovered by two curious strangers who met by fate. Walk through the threshold of the large green doors and enter a house full of joy, sadness, pain, betrayal, and murder.
