He printed her photograph from the contract, put it in his pocket. He had to find her and save her life. The tall man in the black trench coat and fedora realized that Bryan had uncovered the murder contract and executed a plot to kill him. The plot failed, only injuring Bryan but throwing him into an underworld of treachery and suspense. He woke up from his injuries with a head concussion, not knowing who he was or how he got there.
