In this second book in the series, Sean O'Neill has just returned home from burying his parents and his children who were lost in a deadly crash with a log truck on a snowy northern New Hampshire road. His phone rings, and on the other end is Ixchel Tinaalto, the Executive director of Maya Peoples for a New world Order, who invites Sean to speak at the organization's Mayan Dawn Convention in Cancun, Mexico, later in the spring. When Sean accepts the offer, he has no idea that he and Ixchel will become lovers and be thrown into a death spiral that includes a revenge atch with the Los Zetas drug cartel and a death struggle with militant Mayan nationalists who steal ancient Crystal Skulls from the convention and plan to use their powers to dominate Meso-America.
