Aktivitaten der UN, von internationalen Organisationen zur Fluchtlingshilfe, von staatlichen Stellen, von Kommunen, NGOs, religiosen und humanitaren Organisationen werden in diesem Buch dargestellt. Dabei kommen zahlreiche Forscherinnen und Forscher aus den Landern der MENA-Region zu Wort. Sie beschreiben nicht nur gelungene Aktivitaten, sondern auch Schwierigkeiten zahlreicher Gesellschaften in der MENA-Region, die ursprunglich gastfreundliche Haltung zu den Fluchtlingen aufrechtzuerhalten. ahnlich wie in Deutschland lassen sich letztlich absteigende Kurven der Akzeptanz der Fluchtlinge auch fur Lander wie Jordanien, der Turkei oder den Libanon zeichnen. Das Buch fuhrt aber auch vor Augen, wie groae Aufgaben diese Lander durch die Fluchtlingsstrome zu bewaltigen haben und was auch an Anstrengungen unternommen worden ist. Neben Autorinnen und Autoren aus Marokko, Libyen, agypten, den Palastinensergebieten, Jordanien, dem Libanon und der Turkei, enthalt der Band auch Texte aus deutscher, griechischer, italienischer und US-amerikanischer Sicht. Das Buch zeigt eine von Kriegen und Konflikten heimgesuchte Region, aber es zeigt auch Initiativen und Ansaze zu Versohnung. English summary: The book continues the RIPAR series by focusing on the MENA region, which has not yet been treated. Due to the numerous wars and conflicts in this area, further volumes are planned. This volume deals with refugees and their manifold needs for reconciliation with themselves and others. In particular, feelings of grief and guilt because of leaving behind the homeland and parts of the family, bad experiences on the run, conflicts with other refugees and with locals, the loss of a large part of what gave meaning and meaning to life, and the difficulties of returning to a changed country, a homeland that may no longer feel like a home, are the individual facets of this need for reconciliation. Activities of the UN, international refugee aid organizations, government agencies, municipalities, NGOs, religious and humanitarian organizations are presented in this book.
