Reseña del libro "Rhett and Tango: Tales of a Military Kid (en Inglés)"
Rhett Wilson is more than your average fourth-grade kid - he's also a witty, spunky, military kid. When his parents surprise him with a German Shepherd puppy in a box, he feels like the luckiest kid on the planet. Little does he know - there's a catch - and his father is about to deploy, leaving he and his mother behind for a little over six months. While Rhett's father is away on deployment, he struggles with grappling emotions: anger, frustration, fear, anxiety, sadness, and finally, pride. His year in fourth grade feels somewhat like a roller coaster as he learns to deal with the stress and sacrifices of military life. Although he has his super cool police dog, Tango, to play with and protect him, some days as a military kid are just tougher than others. From losing dog tags and getting into trouble at school with Mrs. Higginbottom, to dealing with friends that just don't get it, Rhett stumbles through his journey of coming to terms with the lifestyle his military family leads. One day, when Rhett's father goes missing overseas as a result of an ambush attack on his unit, Rhett and his mother are struck with fear. As they watch the news and continue to send letters to their beloved Airman, they can't help but wonder if they will ever see him again. After several weeks of word from Rhett's father, he begins to wonder if his actions and hatred towards the military were right or wrong. It isn't until his final baseball game as a "nugget" that he begins to wonder, "Will I ever see my Daddy again?"
