Kaitlyn loved to run and she had many trophies to prove it back in Dad's appartment. She had been in track from middle school thru college. Running had been one of the most important joys in her life...until she met and married Jon. He hated for her to run and, after so many fights over it, she gave it up...because she loved Jon more. He said that would make him happy. But Jon wasn't happy! Not even a little. He was sullen and so distant lately. He snapped at her every time she opened her mouth. The last few months he had taken to staying at the office from early morning until late at night. Then he started going away on long business trips without her. She spent a lot of time alone in an empty house until she adopted Radar, a black miniature Schnauzer. She had grown to love that small, energetic little furball. He was by her side every minute of the day and gave her all of his love and attention. Life had it's ups and downs but she thought she and Jon could work things out they had been so happy in the beginning...ignorance really is bliss sometimes. That bliss had lasted four years and then her marriage had started to fall apart after Ellen had died. Kaitlyn had tried to do whatever made Jon happy but nothing had worked. Jon was never happy! Then Jon decided they were going on a trip and he had a surprise for Kaitlyn...and what a surprise it was, too! Now here Kaitlyn was running again...this time for her life!
