Seasons is a book written from the perspective of a childhood sexual abuse survivor and her journey through it. Often, books of this genre are written as a novel, or a self help book, this is a book of poetry and pros with a conversational tone; written to have the reader feel as though they are listening to a story told straight from the mouth of the person to which these events occurred. Life comes in seasons, the seasons change and so do we, and these are the seasons of this author's story. From back cover: Seasons change, and so do we. The words you read in these pages are my perception of how my story unfolded. These words hold both the best and worst versions of myself. This is a story of silence in the face of trauma. This is a story of speaking, both when I desperately wanted shout the truth from the rooftops, when I wanted nothing more than to never speak again, and when others begged me not to- but still, I spoke.
