An important aspect of medicinal chemistry has been establishing a relationship between chemical structure and biological activity.This involves an identification, synthesis, and development of new chemical entities suitable for therapeutical use. It also includes the study of existing drugs, their biological properties, and their quantitative structure-activity relationships (QSAR). Pharmaceutical chemistry is focused on the quality of medicines and aims to ensure fitness for the purpose of medicinal products.Medicinal chemistry is a chemistry-based discipline involving features of biological, medical and pharmaceutical sciences
