Actually able to hear the inhuman heartbeat of a supernatural being, The Infinite possess superior intellect, as well as phenomenal martial arts skills. Each Infinite has the ability to manifest the SEG (Spiritual Essence Glow) as glowing, blade-shaped, violet light, emanating from the hand that he favors, as a potentially lethal weapon. The Infinite cannot be possessed or spiritually corrupted, and they can only be killed by Heavenly beings, Hell creatures, and each other.Over time, as the Earth's population increased, it became necessary for The Infinite to seek a more covert existence, in order to continue to go unrecognized by humanity. They were presented with a vast retreat, which exists outside of time and space, as we understand them, at the peak of Mt Kilimanjaro. This would prove to be their final Heavenly gift, as separation quickly lead to arrogance and complacency. The Elders soon phased out Earthly duties, teaching a doctrine of non-interference and self-superiority to the youth.Jonathan VI, now Jonathan Steele, is an outcast from this Holy Sect.
