This publication (the National Institutes of Health Publication No. 06-5714) will help you to understand the impact of physical activity on your heart, as well as the power of regular activity to help keep you healthy overall. It will also offer plenty of ideas on starting a physical activity program that will be both healthful and enjoyable. Just as important, you'll get tips for keeping up with the activity or activities you choose, since staying active over time is important to long-term health.
