Reseña del libro "Zavala In... Cannot Hear Its' Whistle Anymore (en Inglés)"
This story is about the Elanda Hanks Train Engine and its' whistle that everyone in the City of Kellyville and the surrounding area became used to hearing on weekdays and on Saturdays. It is also about June Lacy, a widow woman, who had been diagnosed with terminal cancer. She lived on Springview Mountain which was over two hundred feet above the City of Kellyville in the valley below. Several days after her diagnoses, June became very ill and needed to be taken to the hospital in Claraville, Georgia. At the same time that she became seriously ill, a severe rain storm washed out the bridge that connected the only road from Barkley Mountain to Springview Mountain (This same road went into Kellyville). It also weakened the beams which had begun to rot on the railroad trestle that connected those two mountains. Therefore, it seemed that no one could help her. Since June's rescue appeared to be hopeless, the Train Engine made the decision to help June by trying to cross the defective trestle. At the same time that it made that decision, the Darriah County Commissioners were holding a meetingto to see how they could get to June and take her to a hospital. Miki (My kee), one of members, thought about calling on Zavala to help them. Another member, Bobby, went outside the building that the commissioners were in and called out Zavala's name loudly. Then Bobby said, "We need your help now." At the same time that Bobby was calling out Zavala's name, the Train Engine started crossing the railroad trestle. The trestle began to collapse as the Train Engine entered the first twenty feet. See if Zavala and his two birds can get to June and the Train Engine in time to help both of them.
